Sunday stamping in blue and white ... ... ...

I’ve managed to have a little bit of inky play this week, although it did take longer than usual!  When I saw the Sunday Stamper challenge at Hels’ blog this week I had to try to enter this week.
I’m trying to sort out my consumables stash which for me right now is mainly papers and embellishments - way too many embellishments and if anyone wants any peel off images leave me a message below and I'll pop some into the post for you!  Whilst going through my bits and bobs I found some Stampbord which I had forgotten about until I started to create my Crew piece for Technique Time Tuesday.
I decided to have a wee bit of inky play.  Using ink pads I coloured the whole piece of Stampbord and once dry I over stamped the image.  Once dry again I used my pokey tool to scratch back some of the ink to add areas of white.  This is the first time I’ve attempted this technique.  You'll be seeing it again and hopefully next time the ‘scratchy bit' will be better han this - I think I was heavy handed.
I have a Stampbord tool that I can’t find right now.  I am in the process of  ‘shopping my stash’ aka a spring clean lol!  I'm hopping I'll find the tool once I've gone through all the boxes of stash!
Enough rabbit here is what I made  … …

A final look.
It’s the first time I have used the butterfly background stamp, which is so embarrassing, because I’ve had it for over three years!

As I’m talking about stamps a history lesson of my stamping journey.  I started to really get into stamps, stamping and embossing twenty years ago.  I first saw stamping and embossing at Alexandra Palace and was hooked immediately.
For the embossing powder to melt the lady used a paint stripper – yep one of those – the American’s had heat guns we had paint strippers or the back of an iron or over an electric toaster – now don’t laugh it’s true, honest!  I think I’ve worked it out right I have been stamping for 20+ years now!  When we moved here I had the original stamp that I purchased while we were still in London and some embossing powder too.  DH didn’t like me using the paint stripper to melt the embossing powder with because I normally ended up with my piece of paper or card on fire!
Anyways approximately 18 years ago stamping started to become a lot more popular in this country.  We were getting to see Gruenig and Suze Weinberg.  The products they used and how they used them.
When I saw the ‘brush stroke style’ stamps I fell in love with them but they weren’t available in UK craft shops.  In fact there was very little available in UK craft shops for the stamper and paper crafter back then.  I took a risk and ordered several sets of stamps from an EZ Mount stockist in the USA and I still use most of them.
There are some stamps that I use a lot, sentiments etc, then there are other stamps that I forget about for a while and am overjoyed when I ‘rediscover’ them – that’s the case with this wee butterfly!  I found some over lovely stamps that I had forgotten about too – hopefully you will be seeing them in the future too!
Thank you so much for taking the time to come visit my blog I really do appreciate it and hopefully I can visit everyone soon!  It’s the first time I have had three design team/crew posts in one week three days in a row!  I’m glad I had my DT and crew creations made, photographed and scheduled – it pays to be organised – just wish I could be like that in real life too lol!
