Paper Crafting Jouney First Design Team Post ... Must Be Love, Love, Love!

I’m here today with my very first Design Team post for Paper Crafting Journey Challenges http://paper-craftingjourney.blogspot.co.uk/

Our theme for this month is, of course, Love - well it is nearly Valentine's Day!  Big thanks to my new boss, Wendy, and all my lovely team mates for helping me with the ‘stuff’ I’ve needed to learn behind the scene lol.  Everyone has been very welcoming and friendly.
I’m going to have to practise, practise, and practise and practise some more my character colouring so that I don’t let my lovely new boss and team mates down.  As if I ever need an excuse to practise colouring lol!
I let out one almighty squeal when I found out I had made the DT and then when I found out who our first sponsor was I let out a louder squeal!!!
Our sponsor this month is the lovely Krista!  Yep the very talented Krista, of http://saturated-canary.myshopify.com/ !  And I got to pick the image I wanted to colour!
Wowee I was so excited – I set Eddy off on a yappy session and DH was like ‘what’s up, what’s going on, you okay’ lol!
I spent an hour and a half looking at all the beautiful digital images.  In the end I chose Krafty Kate, http://saturated-canary.myshopify.com/products/krafty-kate.  She is a real pleasure to colour and I have no doubt whatsoever you will be seeing her again soon and often!  After all I have to ‘practise’ as much as possible lol.   Anyways I did print this image out several times and this was the coloured image that I am the happiest with – I hope my colouring is up to standard.
Anyways enough of my waffle here she is …

This card is approximately 165mm square

It does flatten down considerably for posting and this is how it looks when it's taken out of an envelope.

The little Candi heart that is hidden behind the image

The front panel when laid flat

Close up of the stamped and coloured image

Wild Orchid flowers

The back panel

I think this stamp is going to be used quite a lot lol!
I can use some of my Candi stash up too!

From the left and from the right!

A final look!
Because our theme is ‘love’ I decided to stamp a heart background for my card.  I decided to make a lilac/lavender card because it was the best coloured image and because I had lavender and purple card scraps to use up too.  I used a cross stitch heart stamp and a small heart fleur-de-lis from one of my new Papermania Christmas stamp sets – those stamps will cover more than ‘just Christmas’.
I hope you like what I’ve made.  I like how I’ve coloured her in.  I quite simply enjoyed the process of colouring a new SC image without allowing myself to worry about how 'perfect' she was coloured.  Really hope you all like her!

Thank you so much for taking time to come visit me I really do appreciate it and, unusually, a second posting today!  Don't worry it won't happen often lol!  I’ll be visiting your blogs later on this week.
ttfn Karen x

Congratulations! What a great acheivement. Well done!

Your card is lovely...I am amazed at the intricate folds of your card. It is just wonderful how it can lie fairly flat and then open isto such a wonderful shape!!!

I have never made anything other than a rectangle or square card...I am so boring...but I do want to learn so I'm sollecting recipes for how to fold them! LOL
Hopefully I put them to use!!!
