I’ve a large pile of Christmas paper scraps
and a huge pile of card scraps on the table waiting to either be used or filed
away. I'm desperately trying to be good
and use them so I don’t have to squeeze them into my 12” square tote which is
bursting at the seams! I've tried to use up all my scraps as I've gone along but I didn’t manage to stick to my UIU pledge as
well as I would have liked in December – but hey ho Christmas is always a manic
time for all of us, crafters or not lol!
I purchased at least three card making and craft magazines before Christmas, very naughty! One of the magazines I couldn’t resist because of the gorgeous little Marianne stamp and papers which came with the magazine.
I know a lot will think it’s way too early to be starting or continuing with Christmas card making efforts. For me it’s necessary because I make Christmas cards for mum too. In fact I’m here today to show you my first batch of 2013 Christmas cards!
I’m attempting to use up the last of some C6 notch card blanks from Craftwork Cards. My Use It Up pledge runs out at the end of January so I’m trying to make a nice round number of creations – that way I’ll actually feel like I have achieved some of the goals I set out with, more of that to follow later on this month lol!
I want to enter the following challenges:

Here are the cards … … …
For each stamp I use I want to make six cards, which is what I’ve done here, the ‘Merry and Bright’ will be ours and the Merry Xmas will be for mum! I stamped, coloured with my pencils and decoupage these images before matting onto scraps of red card. The printed papers are the ones that came with the stamp.
I’m experimenting with the camera and my daylight lamp at the moment – apologies for the varying quality!

As I mentioned in a previous
post I’ve used most of the Christmas toppers that were part of my stash for a
couple of years. I’ve a Craftwork Cards
Goody Bag that was on special offer and I’ll use the toppers and die cuts for
the special cards mum wants.
I plan to stamp and
colour an image or origami/tea bag fold a topper for most of the Christmas
cards I want to make.
If necessary I could use
printed toppers but I’m hoping I won’t have to – it’s going to be a case of
wait and see how I go and how organised I can be - which can be a problem lol!

Thank you very much for taking the time to visit and
comment on my blog
Hopefully I’ll be able to catch up with everyone’s
blogs this week!
I've a secret lol - pop back over the next couple of weeks!

Hi Karen, my you have been busy! And so very good as well to be making Christmas cards so early - I'm afraid I packed my stuff up and won't open the box again now until December!
I have to admit I fell off the UiU wagon late September and didn't really manage to get back on it again - I'm going to try again this year and see how I go.
